About Meka
Meka is a design led company started by 4 designers in 2018. We create exclusive fabrics for the high end furnishing and fashion markets catering to editors in the US, UK, Europe and the Middle East.
Design is our forte. We create fabrics for curtaining, upholstery, soft furnishings and fashion in cotton, linen and blends. Our fabrics includes cotton dobby, embroidery, print, print with embroidery, and jacquards. Our original designs are born out of a process of research, brainstorming, concept development and sampling, all of it tied together with our intimate knowledge of textiles.
Inspiration comes from varied sources, art, traditional crafts, nature, architecture and at Meka it is backed by solid research.
Our Design Studio is the essence of Meka. This is where we do our creative
thinking, generate ideas, research, study and discuss trends, explore colours and
surfaces and challenge each other to out create ourselves. We are based in Bangalore, India.
Founders
After two decades in the field working for other mills, we decided to join forces
and strike out afresh. Individually, we have extensive experience catering to a
niche, high-end clientele. We have lived and breathed textiles for the better part
of twenty years, so we get it—the process, the final product, the nuances of the
industry. Together, this hands-on know-how helps us place our customer and our
market centre stage while developing our fabrics. We are artists and designers,
and Meka is fueled by our creativity.
